reat french opera singer, LÉON ESCALAIS (1859-1940) was a rival of the great Tamagno with an amazing heroic tenor voice still available to us on his rare records. He sang mainly in Paris, Marseille, Milan and Bruxelles.
I dedicate this site to the memory of my ancestors, Léon ESCALAÏS and his wife, Marie LUREAU ESCALAÏS. I thank Marie Pink GUINOT ESCALAÏS, their cousin, as well as my father, Pierre ESCALAÏS, thanks to that I could achieve this site.
